Miscellaneous Information
Edward was born at Taft, California on 12 November 1918. Both parents were born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and his father was an assistant auditor at the Hotel Vancouver. He attended St. Joseph’s School, Vancouver 1929-1932 (High School Entrance) and Britannia High School 1932-1935 where he passed Grade 11. Between 1935-1937 Edward worked as a messenger and clerk for C.P.R Telegraphs. He was then a sheet metal worker at Western Steel Products of Vancouver between 1937- 1939 finishing as an Engineers Clerk at the Vancouver Hotel from 1939 onwards. |
Edward enlisted on 4 February 1941 and after finishing his training was embarking for the U.K. on 13 December 1941. He arrived at 3 PRC 26 December 1941, 1 S.S on 20 January 1942, 19 OTU 25 March 1942, and 44 Squadron on 5 June 1942. It was from there that Edward sadly lost his life on 1 August 1942. |
